I promised myself I wouldn't but...

Ralph Nader's first FEC report, covering the period from 10/09/03 to 02/29/04, yields a handful of contributors who are otherwise reliable GOP donors. We've tried to weed out obvious hedgers in favor of what appear to be conservatives aiming to give Bush a boost. All below donated to both Nader, and (unless otherwise noted) all donated Bush in the '04 cycle:

Physician Peter Blitzer [!] $1,000
Investor Wiley Buchanan III 500
Real estate exec. Donald Burns 2,000
Stoneham, MA resident Gary Hutchins 500
Oil company CEO Terrence Jacobs 500
Business theorist Robert A.G. Monks [@] 2,000
Philanthropist Millicent Monks [#] 2,000
Univ of. SC law prof William Quirk [$] 500
Shampoo company CEO Farouk Shami [%] 2,000
Actor/writer Ben Stein 500

[!] On 11/18/03, the same day heavily-GOP donor Blitzer maxed out for Bush, he gave $1K to Howard Dean.
[@] R. Monks' contributions include Bush in '99, Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL), ex-Sen. Al D'Amato (R-NY), ex-Rep. Rick Lazio (R-NY), the ME GOP -- plus two ME Dems, Rep. Mike Michaud and '02 SEN nominee Chellie Pingree.
[#] M. Monks gave to Bush in '99 and the ME GOP in '00.
[$] Quirk gave to Lazio, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and to Pat Buchanan for his '00 run.
[%] Shami's only previous donation was to the RNC in '02.
Nader contributors who gave to Bush in the '00 cycle but so far have not in '04 include MA real estate exec. E. Denis Walsh and UC-Irvine medical prof Hazem Chehabi; both also gave more to Dems than anyone on the above list (Thanks Hotline!).
